NOTES: Finally made it up to the Gunks Parking lot by 6am. It was even on a weekend and there was NO ONE there until at least 8 or 9. Good to know for the future.
CLIMBING SETUP: Just a trad rack. Brought my new set of totems for the inagural placement.
CLOTHING: Stretch Jeans. Dark Grey T-Shirt. It was almost 60 at 6 am. Perfect weather.
QUICK CLIMB SUMMARY:
Betty 5.3 - Lead Betty very confidently. This is getting into “easy breezy” territory.
BETTY - 5.3 - Lead
My second time leading Betty this season. And it was a world of difference. The first time (also my first lead of the season, 2nd or 3rd lead ever) I was super stiff and nervous. This time was like a whole new world. I felt 100% confident the whole way, made some more confident moves, good footwork, hung on just my hands at some points. I did forget to take all the gear back from Henry at the end of pitch 1 which lead to me having to run out the 2nd pitch a bit but I wasn’t super stressed about it. It was Henry’s first time out at the Gunks so I let him wear the helmet cam.
